Hi, my name is Christiane. I've been hand-crafting for over 35 years. Originally sewing custom clothing, I've moved on to designing and creating gemstone jewellery and quilting unique accessories including designer-style fabric handbags. From there, it didn't take long to get hooked onto working with the most beautiful, organic, versatile, durable and hence precious material: real leather! I make all of my patterns from scratch and use only high-quality fullgrain leathers, mostly sourced from local (Australian) tanneries. Whether this is cow hide, kangaroo, deer, goat or sheep skin, or at times a combination thereof, depends on what the design and functionality of each project calls for. All of my products are carefully saddle-stitched using two harness needles and waxed and braided thread. This century-old leathercraft technique results in more durable, precise, hard-wearing and aesthetically appealing seams than what machine processing can achieve. Every item in my collection is unique; many of them have been inspired by medieval history and Nordic mythology which is reflected in my shop name. My product range includes pieces for any gender and most age groups including teens and men. I welcome new design ideas by my customers.
